About The Purist
Welcome! I’m The Purist, and this is my blog. I’m a software engineer by trade, but I’m also a writer, a gamer, and the father of an amazing young man. I like baseball, archery, and role-playing games. I believe in the Oxford comma and two spaces after a period, but I’ll forgive you if you think otherwise. I prefer baking to cooking, and I wish that I could subsist on chocolate chip cookies and peach tea. I’ll read just about anything once, but tend to gravitate toward fantasy and suspense.
The Voice of the Purist was originally a weekly column I wrote for a friend’s fantasy baseball site a decade ago, but as I wrote it, I realized that I had a lot more to talk about than just baseball. Books followed, but even those are limited in scope. What I really wanted was a place to write about everything else. From that thought, the Voice of the Purist blog was born.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope you enjoy your stay!
